An intervention in the process of CNC milling.
Instead of using the normal CNC tools, ceramic tools are used. This increased the possibilities for forming clay for this product. The input for the machine is a 2D pattern. This 2D pattern will be transformed into a 3D object by the machine when the clay is formed. In this way the area between the 2D designed pattern and the three dimensional outcome of the machine will be explored. The result is dramatically different in terms of pattern and texture. In the end a visually appealing design is created with an interesting tactile effect.
